Watercolour food packaging illustration collaboration

I am really excited to be able to share the news of my collaboration with SHORE The Scottish Seaweed Company.

A fantastic project to work on with the SHORE team. I created the watercolour food illustrations of the clusters for the packaging of their new seaweed snacks range.

SHORE practices sustainable harvesting, the seaweed for SHORE's products is hand picked in small teams to protect the natural habitat.

So if you like your snacks tasty, healthy and sustainable, then I suggest you go and check them out. The flavours are Sweet Wasabi, Fruity Cranberry, Almond Butter and Tangy Tomato. I will be adding links to this post of where you can buy the new clusters online when I have them. I can tell you all flavours are yummy! 😛

Watercolour & Ink Still Life Food Illustration - Bragg Apple Cider Vinegar

New Watercolour and Ink, Still Life illustration. Of one of my absolute favourite natural products to keep in my cupboard.

I love Bragg's iconic bottle & branding, their vinegar is still one of the best in my opinion. Paul Bragg was way ahead of his time. Bragg ACV was my first introduction to a vinegar 'with the mother'.

Apple cider vinegar has so many different uses, for health, beauty and non-toxic cleaning. I have included some links to interesting sites that have written about the many varied ways of incorporating ACV into your life. Hope you have fun finding more ways to use your's.

For Health, Healthline have an interesting article on 6 Health benefits of ACV.

For Beauty, this is a good article by Elle 7 Unexpected Beauty Uses For ACV.

For Home & Cleaning, this one by One Green Planet is excellent 37 Apple Cider Vinegar Hacks for a Clean, chemical-Free Home.

All my work starts it's life being created by hand, then scanned and then the compositional work normally takes place in Photoshop. I created a quick GIF to show some of the work in progress, hope you find it interesting.

Eat The Rainbow

Colourful plates of food don't just look amazing, different coloured foods contain different nutrients. Variety in a healthy diet is so important and also keeps life interesting!

An article on eating the rainbow by the British Heart Foundation explains some of the nutritional properties found in fruits and vegetables of different colours.

Personally, I am always looking to find interesting ways to eat more fruit and veg and love to try out new recipes. I save all my recipe inspiration on my Pinterest board here

Would love to here about what you have been eating and cooking!

Rawsome

Rawsome food illustration.

A celebration of raw. Could you benefit from more natural plant-based unprocessed foods in your diet?

I am enjoying seeing the shift towards more of an interest in the nutritional benefits/value of food and drink.

Deliciously Ella Energy Ball Packaging Design

I am so excited to finally be able to share the news of this awesome commission!

I have created the illustrations for the Deliciously Ella packaging of her yummy Energy Balls, which are soon to be sold in supermarkets and health food stores.

I am personally a big fan of Ella Mills (Deliciously Ella). She is the author of the largest read healthy food and lifestyle blog in the UK, she was awarded the Observer Food Monthy Best Food Blog award in 2015. Ella also released her first cookbook in January 2015, it is the best selling debut cookbook ever!

Ella's philosophy is all about nourishing your body with wholesome great tasting ingredients and creating a healthy lifestyle as opposed to strange fad diets!

I am also very interested in the massively important role food and nutrition plays in keeping us healthy and its ability to heal the body. Ella herself is an extremely powerful example of how this is possible.

Ella suffered with a relatively unknown chronic illness called postural tachycardia syndrome which attacks your nervous system, it left Ella bed-bound at the age of 20! She nursed her body back to health by learning about what ingredients were good for her and how to make great tasting meals with them. I would definitely recommend checking out the Deliciously Ella blog, where you can read in more detail about her story and how she turned something so negative into a massive positive, very inspiring!

The Energy Balls are a tasty blend of whole food ingredients, they come in three flavours, Cacao & Almond, Ginger & Cashew and Hazelnut & Raisin. I am quite sure they are going to be a massive success, a really great product, healthy and truly delicious! I speak from first hand experience :) They are perfect for when you need a healthy energy boost.

My illustrations are part of the final packaging, designed by London based branding specialists, Ragged Edge. It was a real pleasure to work with such an amazingly talented team. All of the packaging is also bio-degradable and compostable, can't wait to see these on the shelves!
