New food illustration for my portfolio - Wild Mushrooms

Happy New Year. I am hoping to get back to blogging more regularly in 2014!!!!!

I wanted to share a new piece for my food illustration portfolio. I love wild mushrooms, although I have never been foraging for my own.

I can highly recommend this Jamie Oliver Wild mushroom soup recipe, its super yummy if you are a mushroom fan :)

"This is the real deal – mushroom soup as it should be, bursting with beautifully earthy flavour " - Jamie Oliver

I have made this recipe myself and it is an amazing winter warmer, perfect for those of you that are experiencing cold damp winter weather, why not pop over to Jamieoliver.com and give this one a try.

I am really excited to share with you a preview of my new product range :)

Just making some finishing touches to my new website and online shop which will be stocking my new products. These include cushions, aprons, tea towels, tote bags and signed, framed, ready to hang Giclee prints.

The cushions, aprons, tea towels and tote bags feature some of my most popular illustrations and surface patterns which are digitally printed onto top quality cotton twill fabric. Many of my products are hand finished with button and ribbon detail, making each one unique.

My First Post

I thought I'd start with a quick hello and a brief introduction.

My name is Amanda Dilworth and I work as a freelance designer.  My studio is situated on the outskirts of the beautiful Derbyshire Dales, from which I draw a great deal of inspiration for my work.

I produce Illustration and Surface Pattern design for licensing in the advertising, editorial and publishing markets and for a broad range of products.  These include textiles, apparel, home decor, wallpaper, ceramics, greetings cards and gift wrap.

I am really excited about my forthcoming website which will be online very soon.  www.amandadilworth.co.uk

In the meantime I'd like to share some sneak previews of my work and would welcome any comments you may have. I hope by writing my blog I can provide updated, fresh information on the designs that I am producing and participate in the exciting online design community.

A Range of Greetings Cards and Stationery Commissioned by The Art File

I have been lucky enough to have some of my work for The Art File featured on the Fabulous design blog Print & Pattern.

I have also discovered a really lovely stationery website called Betty's Bureau, on which i was pleased to learn, some of the designs i have done for The Art File are available to buy.

My collection of surface pattern designs, range from the quirky to the sophisticated, here is a small selection, which includes a couple of pieces that are due to be featured in the forthcoming Print & Pattern design book published by Laurence King Publications.

I thought I would finish my first post with some illustrations I have just finished which were inspired by a trip to the not so sunny British seaside!

I hope you enjoy my reading my blog and viewing a small sample of my portfolio. Please visit again soon!
