Twirl

This weeks illustration Friday had me thinking about spiralling shapes. One of my favourites is the fantastic graphic shape of the double helix. This led me to thinking about DNA and being unique and hence the creation of this weeks illustration.

My First Post

I thought I'd start with a quick hello and a brief introduction.

My name is Amanda Dilworth and I work as a freelance designer.  My studio is situated on the outskirts of the beautiful Derbyshire Dales, from which I draw a great deal of inspiration for my work.

I produce Illustration and Surface Pattern design for licensing in the advertising, editorial and publishing markets and for a broad range of products.  These include textiles, apparel, home decor, wallpaper, ceramics, greetings cards and gift wrap.

I am really excited about my forthcoming website which will be online very soon.  www.amandadilworth.co.uk

In the meantime I'd like to share some sneak previews of my work and would welcome any comments you may have. I hope by writing my blog I can provide updated, fresh information on the designs that I am producing and participate in the exciting online design community.
