Watercolour food illustration - Comfort food
Looking forward to being able to share with you some of the food illustration commissions I have been working on. Unfortunately not able to share that news just yet though.
Right now I am working on a series of comfort food illustrations. The first one is one of my go to comfort favourites, a big bowl of ramen!!
Would love to hear what your comfort food favs are?

The 2nd in the series is a Full English, fry-up. I find this is a great protein fix and sets me up for the day. I also like to refuel with one of these after a heavy session at the gym. Hope you enjoy the work in progress shots.

All Bar One Menu Designs
I am so happy to be able to share the news of my collaboration with Ragged Edge, London based branding agency and All Bar One.
My commission was to produce menu designs for the Autumn/Winter season, that reflect the fun yet sophisticated feel of the All Bar One bars.
Working with fantastic clients and being massively passionate about food and drink, made this such an exciting project to work on.
I would love to hear what you think of the results. Maybe if you are out eating and drinking in one of All Bar One's bars you could email me a photograph of yourself, family and friends with one of my menus and what you ordered?

I visited my local All Bar One in Nottingham yesterday to sample some of the yummy food and wine within these menus :)
Both the wine and the food were delicious!!
My red wine was Little James Basket Press Red, which was lovely and fruity without being too heavy. I ordered five dishes from the small plates selection to share between myself and my partner. We had Za' Atar chicken skewers, Bresaola, Crispy duck dumplings, Chorizo & Halloumi skewers and Slow-Cooked pork.

New food illustration for my portfolio - Wild Mushrooms
Happy New Year. I am hoping to get back to blogging more regularly in 2014!!!!!
I wanted to share a new piece for my food illustration portfolio. I love wild mushrooms, although I have never been foraging for my own.
I can highly recommend this Jamie Oliver Wild mushroom soup recipe, its super yummy if you are a mushroom fan :)
"This is the real deal – mushroom soup as it should be, bursting with beautifully earthy flavour " - Jamie Oliver
I have made this recipe myself and it is an amazing winter warmer, perfect for those of you that are experiencing cold damp winter weather, why not pop over to Jamieoliver.com and give this one a try.

Xmas Cookbooks
"I'm super excited that my Wild Mushroom & Chestnut Soup illustrated recipe is included in Holiday Savory. One of the new holiday cookbooks published by They Draw & Cook. Holiday Sweet and Holiday Savory are 2 books that contain a very fun and festive collection of Christmas-y recipes - everything from peppermint bark and gingerbread houses to cranberry molds and sweet potatoes. I think they would make great Xmas presents. Both books are on sale at Amazon.com

My First Post
I thought I'd start with a quick hello and a brief introduction.
My name is Amanda Dilworth and I work as a freelance designer. My studio is situated on the outskirts of the beautiful Derbyshire Dales, from which I draw a great deal of inspiration for my work.
I produce Illustration and Surface Pattern design for licensing in the advertising, editorial and publishing markets and for a broad range of products. These include textiles, apparel, home decor, wallpaper, ceramics, greetings cards and gift wrap.
I am really excited about my forthcoming website which will be online very soon. www.amandadilworth.co.uk
In the meantime I'd like to share some sneak previews of my work and would welcome any comments you may have. I hope by writing my blog I can provide updated, fresh information on the designs that I am producing and participate in the exciting online design community.
Pop Up Xmas Cards Commissioned by Cancer Research

A Range of Greetings Cards and Stationery Commissioned by The Art File
I have been lucky enough to have some of my work for The Art File featured on the Fabulous design blog Print & Pattern.
I have also discovered a really lovely stationery website called Betty's Bureau, on which i was pleased to learn, some of the designs i have done for The Art File are available to buy.
My collection of surface pattern designs, range from the quirky to the sophisticated, here is a small selection, which includes a couple of pieces that are due to be featured in the forthcoming Print & Pattern design book published by Laurence King Publications.

I thought I would finish my first post with some illustrations I have just finished which were inspired by a trip to the not so sunny British seaside!
